App Walking is a simple yet remarkable way of pimping your language learning via your favourite apps. To utilise this technique to it’s fullest potential, it requires strong perception from the student. Yet it can also be used in its simplest form as a way of killing 2 birds with 1 stone and getting some valuable fresh air and exercise along with your language study.
1. Start by integrating your app-study into a walk in your local neighbourhood. Be careful to pay attention to the streets and any traffic as you first start.
2. Try to develop it into a routine, getting exposure to the sun in the morning is a great way to start the day.
3. {optional} If no audio is required for the language learning app, you may want to consider adding music to the equation.
4. {optional} As you become more familiar with the practice of walking and studying, try to become perceptive to the environments you are learning. See if you can start to make links between certain words or concepts and physical spaces. These connections can provide us with invaluable hooks in order to add physical and spatial memory to neurological memories.
