Making a Personalised Memrise Course
This is the most simple way to make a course. There are ways to make it more complicated with adjectives, verbs etc, but for now this is the easiest way to begin.
- Copy the most recently learned words into your spreadsheet. You can either put them into a new tab for each Memrise level or you could also just put them in one tab and separate them with your own headings. I find individual tabs the easiest.
- It’s important that the ordering/arrangement of the tabs is consistent. So column A. should be the language you are learning and then B. the language you are learning through. Also stuff like how you differentiate a verb from a noun will become important. For example, I always use ‘to (verb)’ for verbs in English, (n.) for a noun only when it is unclear, (coll.) for colloquial. But you should decide this yourself as what is logical for me might not be for you.
- Open Memrise and click ‘Edit Course’

Click ‘Add Level’ and then choose the first option, which should just be the name of the language you are learning.

Then scroll down to the new level and click on ‘Advanced’ and then click ‘Bulk Add Words’

Now go back to your spreadsheet, select all of the new words (both columns, ie new word + translation) and then paste them where it says ‘Paste your data here:’

And click ‘Add’.
